Classes and Schedule

Gentle Yoga

Great class for beginners and those with physical and mental disabilities as well as for those coping with Trauma. We work with a props to support the body and we repeat poses from 5-10 breaths. This is a slow paced flow intended to become a moving meditation and focus on the breath, body, and mind, connection. This class ends in a longer resting pose with a gentle assist for each student if the student allows permission.

Vinyasa Yoga

The literal translation “movement linked with breath.” It is one of the most popular styles of yoga in the US adapted from Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga lineages. This class is for all levels and welcomes more of a challenge and full body workout. You will expect to do 3-5 Sun Salutaion A’s and B’s also known as Surya Namaskara, you will sweat in this class, and leave feeling empowered and transformed. Sequences vary depending on instructor and are open to a variety of styles and lineages.

Chair yoga is taught to all levels for people recovering from accidents, to those with physical disabilities, or to the elderly working on balance and relaxation. This practice is inspired by the Hatha Yoga tradition and modified to be done in a chair or with the support of the chair for the standing poses.

Restorative Yoga

Intention for this class is to bring the body and mind into an awakened sleep and restoration of all muscles. We let go of the thoughts that run through our mind with a guided meditation focusing on the breath work, (pranayama) and begin to journey through a series of poses that open up the spaces we hold tension and hold these poses for 3-5mins. Most of these class begin and end with a chant or mantra as well as with the accompaniment of a gong, singing bowl, or harmonium.

Yin Yoga

The term “Yin” comes from the Taoist tradition. Yang relates to the movement, creating heat in the body. Yin is about finding stillness in cooling the body. We need both to come into balance. Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with postures or Asanas, that are held for longer periods of time that open deep into the hip flexors and fascia. For beginners, we hold poses for 45sec – 1.5mins. For more advanced practitioners, we hold poses for 3-5mins.

We provide an environment that is welcoming and safe for each participant and offer guidance if needed throughout the poses.
